The Raven is a triple drone flute in A4, tuned to A = 432 Hz and 3D-printed in plant-based PLA. Three bores run the length of the body, so a sustained drone sits under whatever melody you play.

The body is sculpted rather than tubular. A flowing feather texture wraps the playing section, then gives way to a smooth upper body and a head that tapers to a point like a beak. A three-pointed detail sits below the blocks with a mother-of-pearl inlay set into its center, and the black filament carries a fine mineral fleck that catches the light.

Play it slowly. The drones do most of the work, and a few notes over the top are enough to fill a room. It fits meditation and sound journeys, and it makes a distinctive gift for anyone who collects unusual flutes.

  • Key of A4, tuned to A = 432 Hz
